Sexsmith books shows, webcasts

Singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith is hitting both the road and the information highway.

Sexsmith's June 7 and 8 concerts in Chapel Hill, NC, will be webcast through the Digital Club Network (dcn.com). Both shows start at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. Sexsmith performs at the shows with highly tipped alt.country singer Tift Merritt.

On June 17, Sexsmith will also participate in the "Stage For AIDS" benefit in Ottawa. He then kicks off Canada Day festivities July 1 at Toronto's Harbourfront.

A string of folk-festival dates follows, wrapping up with a free show in New York City.

Sexsmith's new album, "Cobblestone Runway," is due for release this fall.
