It seems Snoop Dogg was barking up the wrong tree when he decided to do a cameo in the upcoming Muppet film "It's A Very Muppet Christmas Movie."

Launch.com reports the brief appearance by the rapper has been snipped out of the made-for-TV film, which is set to air on NBC in December.

Reasons for the edit were not disclosed, but recent protests by a civil rights group over the appearance of Snoop in the film are believed to be the motivation behind the cut.

The hardcore rapper has recently appeared in porn videos and the group believes that Snoop's controversial image is not suited for children.

Meanwhile, Snoop's upcoming album "Paid The Cost To Be Tha Boss" is set to hit stores on November 26.
