Hello Young Lovers
(In the Red)

More than 20 albums and 35 years into their career, the magnificent Mael brothers still haven't run out of ideas. In fact, if Hello Young Lovers is anything to go by, singer Russell and keyboardist Ron are heading into a late-career comeback.

This 10-track gem is one of the dynamic duo's sharpest and strongest sets in ages, slyly merging the neo-classic pomp and circumstance of 2002's Lil' Beethoven with the grit and wit of their killer '70s glam-rock to forge an orch-pop sound not unlike Queen's more grandiose moments.

The opening dumped-dude epic Dick Around, the olfactory ode Perfume and the genre-bending Waterproof are standouts, but fans who have lost touch with the Maels over the years oughta be happy to say hello again.
