Stefani explains 'Scarface' bangs
By JANE STEVENSON - Toronto Sun

There's been much talk about Gwen Stefani's new look -- a platinum blonde wig with bangs -- in suppport of her new CD, The Sweet Escape.

She said it was inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer's "coke whore" look from 1983's Scarface but some young fans are getting that explanation confused with something else.

During her appearance on MuchMusic last week, a girl asked Stefani to give a shout-out to all the "crack ho's!"

"I couldn't believe it!" Stefani told the Sun. "I said, 'What did she just say?' I think people always get things wrong and I can't take responsibility for everybody. You know what I mean? I just thought, 'I never really did bangs before.' I'm like, 'I'm going to do bangs.' It's not that deep. I just think it's a really cool time period."
