Rod Stewart has a new label home.
The longtime Atlantic artist, who was cut loose late last year amid a roster purge, has signed on with J Records, the domain of legendary record man Clive Davis.
Rod The Mod is already working on a new album, Variety reports.
"The soundtrack to our lives would be totally incomplete without Rod Stewart," Davis said in a statement.
"I am thrilled to welcome him to J Records and to begin working with him on an album that will show his one-of-a kind vocal talent like no one has heard him heard before."
Davis recently played a big role in the career revival of another veteran musician, Carlos Santana.
Stewart, 57, spent 26 years recording for Atlantic. He was released from his deal at the same time as Collective Soul, Tori Amos, and Sinead O'Connor.
Stewart's most recent release was 2001's "Human," which sold poorly in North America but was a success in Europe.
His recent best-of disc "The Story So Far," released earlier in 2002, has sold 2.5 million worldwide, the report said.
