The Stone Temple Pilots have finalized plans to hit the road for a six-week North American tour this winter, including at least one -- and perhaps ONLY one -- Canadian date.
The band, with recovering addict Scott Weiland in tow, is pencilled in to play Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Dec. 6, sources say.
It is, so far, the only Canadian date on the band's itinerary, which kicks off Nov. 4 in California. Though as many as 30 dates are expected to be announced, only six have been confirmed, according to Pollstar online. Those include the opener
in L.A., along with Phoenix, Irvine, Ca., San Jose, Seattle, and Dallas.
In a largely moribund concert year, the STP tour has to be considered one of the season's biggest events. Even with no touring, little press, and Weiland out of commission in drug rehab, the band's third album, Tiny Music ... Songs From The Vatican Gift Shop, has still moved well over a million copies.
