TOXICITY
By MIKE ROSS
TOXICITY System of a Down (Sony) This is a frightening ride on an unsafe roller coaster in an amusement park designed by a madman. Who needs Rage Against the Machine when this Los Angeles crew has enough rage for all of us? It's not just some of the angriest, fastest thrash metal you've heard. With vocalist Serj Tankian's inspired Tourette's syndrome-style rants leading the way through a minefield of themes - the war on drugs is evil, America is rotten to the core, etc. - this band contrasts its powerful rage with calm pools of haunting, exotic beauty before plunging you into a maelstrom so heavy it threatens to blow the bolts on the track and send you flying to your death. In other words: Success! (More on: System Of A Down). Track Listing
1. Prison Song
