With only two records to her name, Mali's Rokia Traore has joined an elite club of superstars who've emerged from the West African nation over the years.
A musical powerhouse, Mali has given birth to artists such as guitarist Ali Farka Toure (who's at Harbourfront Aug. 11), singers Salif Keita, Oumou Sangare and Mory Kante, and kora strummer Toumani Diabate.
