U2 frontman Bono is tackling a bigger film role, this time appearing in the upcoming romantic musical "Across the Universe," MTV News reports.
The 45-year-old singer will play Dr. Robert, a spiritual character who delivers several of the film's important lines, before singing his rendition of The Beatles' classic tune "I Am the Walrus."
"Thirteen" star Evan Rachel Wood will star in the film with Julie Taymor ("Frida") in the director's chair.
Filming is already underway with a release date slated for 2006.
Bono's other acting credits include cameos in 1999's "Entropy" and 2000's "Million Dollar Hotel."
