Voisine slides into No. 1 spot
By , QMI Agency

Roch Voisine

After five weeks on the Canadian charts, singer-songwriter Roch Voisine made his first leap to the top.

The Quebec artist's latest effort, "Americana," moved from No. 2 to No. 1 on sales of 6,300, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

Voisine forced Johnny Reid's "A Place Called Love" (6,000) down to No. 2, while Eminem's "Recovery" (5,800) moved up a notch to No. 3.

The biggest gainer this week went to incarcerated rapper Lil' Wayne and his disc "I Am Not A Human Being," which stormed up 80 positions to No. 4.

Phil Collins' "Going Back" went back two notches to No. 5, Linkin Park's "Thousand Suns" climbed up two to No. 6, and All That Remains' "For We Are Many" was the top debut of the week at No. 7.

Closing out the top 10 was the "NOW 16" collection at No. 8, Bruno Mars' "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" at No. 9, and Neil Young's "Le Noise" at No. 10.

In the U.S., Lil Wayne came in first (125,000), followed by Darius Rucker's "Charleston, SC 1966" in second, Big Time Rush's "B.T.R" in third, the Band Perry's self-titled debut in fourth, and Eminem in fifth.
