It seems The Weakerthans are no longer at full strength.

According to various sources, bassist John Sutton has quit the Winnipeg-based band fronted by singer-songwriter John K. Samson.

Phone calls to the group weren't returned at press time. It's unclear if the critically lauded, Juno-nominated band will continue as a trio or recruit a new member for an upcoming European tour.

The Weakerthans have released three full-length albums. Their latest, Reconstruction Site, was released on American punk label Epitaph.
