NO SUCH PLACE
By MIKE BELL
NO SUCH PLACE Jim White (EMD/LUAKA BOP) On this, his second record (his debut, Wrong-Eyed Jesus was a weird, wonderful gem in 1997), Florida-born singer-songwriter Jim White takes an approach to his modern C&W songs that, while not as reverential or poker-faced as someone like, say, Palace, is still true to the spirit. He just has more fun with it -- as witnessed on tracks like God Was Drunk When He Made Me and Ghost-town Of My Brain -- and isn't afraid to incorporate new sounds. It's the perfect addition to anyone's nouveau cowboy collection. Track Listing
1. Handcuffed To A Fence In Mississippi
