White Stripes lead singer Jack White is pulling double duty for the upcoming film "Cold Mountain," appearing in a small role and contributing to the soundtrack.
According to Billboard, White has contributed five tracks to the film's soundtrack, to be released Dec. 16. Among the tracks will be Howlin' Wolf's "Sittin' on Top of the World," Ralph Stanley's "Great High Mountain" and two original songs, "Never Far Away" and "Christmas Time Will Soon Be Over."
The soundtrack will also feature Alison Krauss, Reeltime Travelers and star Nicole Kidman, backed by pianist Gabriel Yared.
The Civil War drama, with White as a deserting soldier, also stars Jude Law and Renee Zellweger. It opens Christmas Day.
