Wilco announces Cdn. tour dates
By JAM! Music

Acclaimed rockers Wilco will herald the release of their long-delayed album "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" with a brief North American tour, including two dates in Canada.

The band's official website (www.wilcoweb.com) says the group will perform at Toronto's Convocation Hall on April 21 and Montreal's Spectrum on April 22. "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" arrives in stores April 23, via Nonesuch Records.

Sources said further details, including support act, would be announced next week.

"Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" was originally scheduled to be released last summer via Reprise Records, but when Wilco refused to change the album, a conflict between artist and label erupted, which resulted in Wilco leaving the label to sign with Nonesuch.

During the making of "YHF," founding drummer Ken Coomer parted ways with the band, and after the album was finished, guitarist-keyboardist and songwriter Jay Bennett also left the group. Bennett has been recording with longtime friend Edward Burch, and the results -- "The Palace At Four A.M." -- credited to Bennett & Burch, is to be released on the same day as Wilco's album.
