I HOPE YOU DANCE
Lee Ann Womack
This title track is one of the most passionate non-love songs on country radio since Brad Paisley's He Didn't Have to Be. Womack gets some vocal help from Sons of The Desert to make this Mark Sanders/Tia Sillers song really hit home. Womack's strength has always been making the stories of the songs so emotional. It likely helps she keeps her two daughters in mind while singing about her dreams for the future of someone she loves. While the rest of the album moves to a more traditional sound, listeners won't be disappointed. Another highlight is Thinkin' With My Heart Again, which tells the heartbreakin' story of a woman who meets an old flame in a grocery store and still feels the pangs of love. Rodney Crowell writes Ashes By Now -- "as much as you burn me baby, I should be ashes." For a newlywed, Womack is pretty good at shooting an arrow into the heart of love -- Lonely Too and Does My Ring Burn Your Finger.
