He is hailed as Canada's foremost showman. On the piano, he has been compared to the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John and Ray Charles. His ability as a singer and pianist has earned him accolades throughout his forty-three year professional career.

Played in several show bands such as Jerry Warren And The Tremblers, Terry And The Linconaires, Original Legends of Rock and Roll (as Jerry Lee Lewis), The Ron Dons, The Quorum, Ronnie Hawkins And
The Hawks, The Graduates, Fats Domino, and The Par Four.
Diel boasts a lengthy list of recording artists he has performed with: Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Johnny Cash, The Statler Brothers, Roger Miller, Sam and Dave, Elton John, Willie Nelson and Ronnie Hawkins.
Diel was also in the opening act for the Beatles during their Las Vegas performance in 1964. Diel has performed worldwide at five star hotels and resorts in Portugal, Lisbon, Spain, Australia, Hawaii and the Caribbean.
Some of his long-term engagements have included seven years at Deerhurst Resort in Canada; six years at the Freemont Hotel, Las Vegas; six years at the Golden Hotel, Reno, Nevada; ten years at Fazio's, Fort Lauderdale and Oshawa.
Diel has produced eleven gold records for Ampex, Quality, and Sussex Records in Canada and the United States including Last Kiss, Teen Angel, Roses Are Red, Tell Laura I Love Her, Loving You Baby, Fly Away, Stoodup, Little Lana, Someday, Just a Little Too Much, Kentucky, Tonight Josephine, Desire, Big Hoss Man, Melody Moon, Atlanta Girls, Wandering Star, Through Your Head, The Real Me. Nothing But Love, Bentbrandenberg, Taking Me Home, Could Have Been A Star, Love Is Where You Find It, Kristin's Song, and Hand Jive.
In Nashville, he recorded five albums with Bobby Goldsboro and The Graduates; produced three albums for Betty Black; Co-produced two albums for the group Vehicle; Co-produced an album for the group Sands of Time; Co-produced 2 top 20 hits for the group 1970's group Creed.
Diel managed over 300 musicians in Canada and the US including Debbie Laurie Kay, Wednesday, Great Lakes Express, Salty Dog, Sphinx/Killer Dwarfs, Dan Clancy (Lighthouse), Creed.
He still continues with regular performances in Las Vegas for at the Fremont Hotel, in Reno, Nevada's Golden Hotel, Harrah's in Lake Tahoe, Carson City Nugget, Jack Tar Village in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
