Bilingual folk act Eritage formed in Quebec in 1977. They were originally part of Tele-Capitale television network in Quebec City where they worked on the shows 'Gentil' Alouette' and 'Folklore en Tete'.
They soon moved to the concert stage where the combined various traditional dance and Celtic/Acadian music. They then expanded to folk festivals all across North America and throughout Scandinavia and the Mediterannean.
Their self-titled debut album was released in 1979 which was followed by three albums recorded for the Catholic School of Quebec.
Vincent Ouelett replaced Joyal in 1982 and Phillipe was adding on percussion for their final record, 1983's 'La Ronde des Voyageurs', that was produced by the late Stan Rogers. The group disbanded in 1985.
