Meg Lunney (vocals)
Jonathan Evans (guitar)
Tom McKay (bass)
Graeme Murray (drums)
A misleading name for this quartet of 3 men and one woman, this Glasgow based band from Wawa, Ontario achieved prominence in Scotland after moving to Britain in 1987. Lunny, Evans and McKay hail from Canada and Murray from Scotland.
The Ontario contingent first met when Evans and Lunney were neighbours and Lunney's sisters would babysit McKay. The trio went to the University of Ottawa where they formed the band The Five Guys.
Quirky, melodic and often humorous, their style was a blend of dreamy Mary Margaret O'Hara/Jane Siberry styled ethereal tunes.
with notes from Jonathan Evans.
