Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Babe Gurr's jazz-infused sound allowed her the luxury of airplay across many genres. A formidable guitarist, Gurr's straddles the line between pop and country. Her music has been featured on the Women's Television Network's program 'The Creators'.

The video for her second single, "Touched By Angels", from her sophomore album, 'Velvet Dust', received extended play in CMT's daily rotation in 1997. The third release from the album, "Crying Over You", is a duet with Spirit Of The West's John Mann.

Her most recent recognition was being selected as a finalist for two self-penned tunes in the "Great American Song Contest". Gurr’s songwriting has recently received accolades, taking the win for the Sonic Bids 'Nashville Song Contest' and garnering honourable mention for three self-penned tunes in the acclaimed Billboard World Song Contest “

Gurr has headlined at numerous festivals including Toronto’s Harbourfont Music Series, Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Pacific National Exhibition, Victoria Folkfest, First Night, Mission Folk Music Festival, Vancouver Island MusicFest, Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Music Festival, Filberg Festival and Islands Folk Festival.

Her tunes have been licensed for various shows including the U.S. FOX series 'Higher Ground'. She appeared on the television show 'Big Sound', playing an avant-garde lounge singer and has been a guest on many national shows such as Canada AM and The Jim Byrnes Show.
