PARIS HILTON

Artist: Jordan, Keven

North-African born Keven Jordan moved to Canada from Egypt at the age of 11. He and his father lived in Stratford, Ontario and as a teenager began an apprenticeship at the annual Stratford Festival.

At age 20 he moved to Toronto and took small acting rolls in TV commercials whle teaching himself how to play guitar. Jordan slogged it out around Toronto coffee houses and clubs as a singer-songwriter before hitting pay dirt as the first Canadian act signed to the re-structured Sony Music in 1990.

His debut album, 'No Sign Of Rain', boasted heavy assists from guitarists Danny McBride (Chris DeBurgh) and Martin Walsh (Supertramp), drummer Steve Kendry (Dalbello, Spoons), and guitarist Peter Cardinelli (Anne Murray, Gordon Lightfoot, Boomers).

Through several heavily rotated singles/videos, including the title track Jordan won a 1991 Juno Award for 'Most Promising Male Vocalist'.

Jordan's second album was a little more difficult to create and differences in musical direction left Jordan disinterested in the musical result. He began working heavily with graphic artist Jamie Grant on the design of the album art and following the disappointing sales of his self-titled follow-up dropped out of the music business in the middle of 1994.

He now focuses on his career as a graphic artist & photographer. Musically he still writes songs and records jingles for the likes of Wrigley's, Ford and Home Hardware.

Jordan is currently the Creative Director for both Cairo Design Studios and Bellamy Internet.
