Blues guitarist Paul Vigna played around the seedier side of the Toronto club scene in the early 70's and he soon decided that to make a living doing what he loved he needed to put a band together.
The group was called Lick N' Stick, and were signed to Columbia Records in 1974. There followed several singles on their own imprint, Lick 'N' Stick Records distributed by Columbia, but Vigna disagreed with the label's insistence that the band pursue a disco career and there was no album ever released.
Vigna decided to distance himself from the perception of Lick 'N' Stick as a disco act and began pursuing his blues roots. After a three month stint with Mink DeVille in Europe, Vigna returned to Canada a better musician and with a new name -- Paul James -- which has given him a lengthy solo career ever since.
Martin Soldat would go on to be an award winning graphic artist.
