Having left Bartholomew Plus 3 in the summer of 1968 to continue working and pay for University, Barry Albert hooked up with LIFE who were signed to Polydor in 1969. Their first single, a cover of the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever", brought them notoriety but it was their second single "Hands Of The Clock" which made the RPM Magazine Top-40 across Canada in August 1969 the Billboard Top-100 in the USA.
Albert left to continue his schooling and was replaced by former J.B. & The Playboy/Carnival Connection member J.P. Lauzon. The band would carry on with several more singles and a full-length LP in 1970. The band split up not long after the album release.
Simon would go on to win many awards for sound-design on TV ('Lexx') & movie soundtracks ('Scanners II & III'). Simon is now the Vice-Chairman of SOCAN and tracks down royalties for artists all over the world; Albert became the business manager for a top session singer in Quebec and still continues to perform as well; Lauzon went on to be in Our Generation before carrying on with a modest solo career and was, until 2008, in a band called Helium.
