Ryan Dahle (guitar, vocals, bass, keys)
Kurt Dahle (drums, vocals)
Ian Somers (bass)
During the struggle to get their popular Age Of Electric alter-egos attention in 1995, the Dahle brothers made a brief excursion into another musical direction with buddy Somers.
They wrote a handful of songs, jammed about ten times, mostly in the middle of the night, and recorded a demo on a 4-track tape recorder. Soon, they couldn't keep up with demand from friends for copies of the tapes. One such friend, Krisjan Leslie, invited them into a Calgary studio for 4 days over Christmas 1995.
None of the members had even sung lead on a song before and using old discarded, previously used reel-to-reel tapes, they hammered out what would become their debut album. The material was then remixed by Jim Rondinelli (Matthew Sweet, Big Star) and released worldwide in January 1996 by Universal/MCA in Canada and Mercury Records in the US.
