When things went downhill for touring Swiss rockers Chinook while in Canada they stumbled across resident eccentric Jaymz Bee of The Bee People and they decided to merge in 1985.

An 8 track demo was recorded at Vital Sines' Rhythms In Dark Studios in Toronto with Sines' bassist Terry Michaelson producing. From these sessions was gleaned the 'Stop Making Cheese' EP which was scooped up for distribution by AMOK Records.

The band began hopping back and forth across the Atlantic plying their weird musical trade on unsuspecting Europeans. With a return to Canada in late 1986 they made their first video, 'Baby X', that was too weird for MuchMusic to play.

On the side Great Bob Scott and Jaymz Bee played in Hatfield McCoy Pioneer Experience Reunion in 1988.

Their 1989 EP 'More Songs About Hats And Chickens' continued to set the tone for more eccentric and inaccessible albums to come.

In 1991 the band managed to finally land the big record deal and released their debut Spike Jones-meets-The Red Hot Chili Peppers 'Boogazm' which featured a seminal hit in the remake of War's "Low Rider".

As a way to fend off boredom from their frenetic touring schedule the Look People began to put on wigs and black leather and would open their own shows as alter ego heavy metal act Guelph (often insulting the Look People during their sets).

Despite being five-time CASBY nominees and developing an intense cult following, The Look People called it a day in 1994.

Currently Jaymz Bee has been doing A & R work and compiling lounge music CDs some featuring big band remakes of classic Canadian rock tracks and occasionally touring with his own Jelly Roll Orchestra; Kevin Hearn would go on to join the Barenaked Ladies.
