Halifax, Nova Scotia rap duo MCJ and Cool G relocated to Montreal in 1988 and were signed to Capitol Records as the first domestic rap act signed to a major label in 1989.
Their first album was 'So Listen!' in 1990 and the title track, their first hit. The album produced three Juno nominations for the duo.
With their own CEC Productions company they began producing other R & B and rap acts before returning to the record racks with their follow-up album 'Dimensions Of Double R & B' in 1993.
