Pair recognizes impact of being on hit shows
By BILL HARRIS -- Sun Media
Two of the new "it" girls of Canadian TV, Natalie Brown of Sophie and Amber Marshall of Heartland, both reflected yesterday upon how their lives have changed in the past year. "A little bit," said Brown, the lead actress in the CBC sitcom Sophie, when asked if she gets recognized on the street now. "It used to happen a bit when I did commercials. People would be like, 'Uh, did I go to high school with you, or are you that girl from the commercial?' "Now the recognition is more instant, but it's as Sophie, and people refer to me as Sophie. They don't say, 'Are you Sophie?', they say, 'Sophie, you need to stand up to your mother.' " Marshall, the lead actress in the CBC's Alberta-based family drama Heartland, said she loves her job so much that any of the extra benefits of being on a hit TV show are just icing on the cake. "They do, but not on a regular basis," Marshall said when asked if people recognize her. "I wouldn't say I've noticed an actual change in my life. I don't think of it any differently. "It's just every once in a while I get more smiles from people." |
