Sara Gilbert returns to 'Big Bang'
Former 'Roseanne' star joins CBS comedy full-time
By Zap2It.com

After a well-received guest-starring stint last season, Sara Gilbert will return to "The Big Bang Theory" full-time in the fall.

The former "Roseanne" star and two-time Emmy nominee has joined the CBS comedy as a regular cast member, the showbiz trade papers report. Her casting continues a reunion with Johnny Galecki, who played her boyfriend-turned-husband on "Roseanne" in the 1990s.

Love will (sort of) be in the air on "The Big Bang Theory" as well. Gilbert will continue her role as Leslie Winkle, a colleague, intellectual equal and on-and-off love interest for Leonard (Galecki), who's still figuring out how to act around women.

Gilbert earned two Emmy nods for her role as Darlene Conner on "Roseanne," which ran from 1989-97 on ABC. Her recent credits also include a recurring role on "ER" and guest spots on "The Class" and "Private Practice." Her resume also includes The WB sitcom "Twins" and a recurring part on season two of "24."

"The Big Bang Theory" is scheduled to begin its second season on CBS Monday, Sept. 22.
