Having Kiefer Sutherland or his 24 character Jack Bauer on your side is a comforting place to be, according to Mary Lynn Rajskub.
Rajskub, who plays Jack’s trusted ally Chloe on 24, was asked yesterday during a conference call about Sutherland’s recent legal troubles. Sutherland has been charged with misdemeanour assault after a fashion designer claimed he was head-butted by the actor at a Manhattan nightclub.
“I know if (Sutherland) were with me, and I needed him to protect me, he would do it, so that’s pretty cool,” Rajskub said.
Some reports have suggested Sutherland was defending actor Brooke Shields at the nightclub. Shields disputes that, but she is going to be questioned as a witness by police.
“Kiefer is a good friend of mine, but having said that, it’s mostly through work and through being on the show,” Rajskub said. “So I don’t really follow what he’s doing. I’m sure everybody else has heard more details than I have.”
Rajskub was asked about Sutherland’s legal issues possibly impacting the shooting schedule for the next season of 24.
“I’m glad that Jack Bauer is on my side and I think it will just make the season better,” said Rajskub, chuckling. “As far as I know, no delays yet.”
24 airs Mondays on Global and Fox. The season finale is May 18.
