‘Futurama’ returning to TV

Animated comedy show Futurama is set to return to TV screens six years after it was cancelled.

The show, created by The Simpsons mastermind Matt Groening, was axed in 2003 following a sharp decline in ratings.

Program bosses refused to give up on the series, creating four straight-to-DVD films which were aired on America's Comedy Central network.

But bosses at U.S. network Fox have now ordered a revival of Futurama, commissioning 26 new episodes which are due to be screened in 2010.
