It wouldn't shock us to hear that world-renowned Canadian comedian Russell Peters was hanging out with Prince. Or even Queen Latifah. But a real-life king?

Well, it actually occurred late last week, when Peters met King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Peters had a private audience with King Abdullah at the Royal Palace in Amman, Jordan, where Peters was headlining the Amman Stand-Up Comedy Festival. King Abdullah, a fan of Peters, invited Peters to an audience after being unable to attend his shows due to official commitments.

"If I were a king, he's the kind of king I'd like to be," Peters said in a statement. "He's the coolest guy."

Later the same evening, Peters returned to the palace with his brother and sister-in-law for a dinner with King Abdullah and Queen Rania.
