Baio jabs Obama, gets death threat

Scott Baio (WENN.COM file photo)

Former Happy Days star Scott Baio has called in the FBI after he allegedly received a series of online threats.

The actor came under fire after he posted an unflattering picture of America's First Lady Michelle Obama on his Twitter.com page, along with a caption which read, "Wow. He (U.S. President Barack Obama) wakes up to this every morning."

The post attracted a slew of negative comments from his followers, and Baio replied insisting his message was taken the wrong way.

He wrote, "People need to relax and laugh a bit. Life is too short no matter what party you are with. A joke is just that, a joke."

But the star insists the reaction to his gag continued to escalate, and he alleges some of the messages he received became threatening.

He later informed followers of his Twitter.com blog that he had contacted authorities over the nasty posts: "PLEASE NOTE: The FBI has been contacted & we have a file number for the threats, along with Twitter support. Thx (thanks)."
