At least this means the world will be spared another Michael Strahan sitcom.
Kelly Ripa finally has decided upon a new full-time co-host to replace Regis Philbin on the syndicated daytime talk-show Live! With Kelly, and it's the gap-toothed Strahan.
The affable Strahan is a former NFL star and Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants. Transitioning away from football, Strahan starred in a horrible sitcom called Brothers that lasted only 13 episodes in 2009.
On Tuesday's broadcast of Live! With Kelly, which airs across Canada on CTV, Strahan bounded onto the stage and gave Ripa a bone-rattling bearhug that lifted her into the air.
“It’s so nice to have a co-host literally sweep you off your feet,” Ripa said. "I know that he can bench press me if he wanted to.”
On Live! back in 2008, Strahan joked that he would be the one to replace Philbin. "I'm glad the joke came true," Strahan said Tuesday.
Hey, that's one more joke than Brothers ever landed.
