Cee Lo Green is innocent: rep

A representative for Cee Lo Green has hit out at allegations suggesting the singer drugged and sexually assaulted a woman in Los Angeles, branding the accusations "despicable" and "deeply hurtful".

An unidentified female has filed a police report against the Forget You hitmaker, real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, claiming her drink was spiked with ecstasy while at a sushi restaurant in downtown L.A. and that she was subsequently taken advantage of in a hotel room.

Los Angeles Police Department detectives have launched an investigation into the reported incident, although they have not revealed details about when and where the attack is said to have taken place.

Green, who serves as a mentor on U.S. reality show The Voice, has already spoken out to protest his innocence, insisting "nothing ever happened there (at the restaurant) or anywhere else", and now his spokesperson has issued a full statement about the accusations.

The press release, obtained by AllHipHop.com, reads: "Given that the matter is under investigation, we obviously cannot speak as freely as we like.

"What we can say is that these allegations are despicable, untrue, and deeply hurtful to Cee Lo, his children and his family. We are confident that when all the facts come out, it will be clear that if anyone was victimised here it was Cee Lo.

"In the meantime, Cee Lo is deeply grateful for the overwhelming support he has received from his fans, his friends, and his colleagues."

No charges have been filed since the report first surfaced on TMZ.com in late October and the case has yet to be referred to prosecutors.
