'Dallas' cast to resume filming

Larry Hagman. (WENN.com)

Production on the Dallas TV revamp is set to resume on Tuesday, four days after the death of actor Larry Hagman.

The veteran star, who portrayed oil tycoon J.R. Ewing, had been working with the cast and crew on the second season of the updated show when he passed away on Friday following a battle with cancer.

Filming was halted to mark Hagman's death, and executives told WENN the show's writing team would have to alter the planned storyline in the aftermath of the tragedy. Viewers had seen Hagman's character vowing to launch a titanic battle for control of the family's business empire at the close of the debut season, which aired earlier this year.

However, cameras are expected to begin rolling again this week as the late star's castmates return to work, and according to E! News, Hagman will feature in at least the first five episodes of the new season.

Meanwhile, Hagman will be remembered at two private memorial services in Texas and in California this week.

His manager, John Castonia, reveals the actor's family will hold a pair of ceremonies for friends and relatives before his body is cremated. His son Preston plans to spread his dad's ashes all over the world, as per his late father's wishes, according to ETonline.com.
