Music and TV mogul Simon Cowell has become the latest celebrity victim of 'swatting', according to reports.
Pranksters called emergency services in Los Angeles on Sunday and reported The X Factor co-creator and judge was being held hostage in his home.
Sources tell TMZ.com the female caller claimed Cowell had been bound and gagged by an intruder.
Police officials reportedly investigated the report and discovered Cowell was indeed at home in Beverly Hills but his safety was not in danger.
Recent victims of hoax calls - known as 'swatting' - have included Ashton Kutcher, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.
