Actor Ned Wertimer has died at the age of 89.
The Jeffersons star passed away on January 2 at the Sherman Village Health Care Center in California after suffering complications from a fall in his Burbank home in November, his manager Brad Lemack tells The Associated Press.
Wertimer has more than 100 TV credits to his name, but was most famous for his longstanding role on the hit U.S. sitcom, in which he played doorman Ralph.
He also appeared in shows including Gunsmoke, I Dream Of Jeannie, Mork & Mindy and The Debbie Reynolds Show, as well as movies such as 1974 musical film Mame and 1975's The Strongest Man in the World.
Wertimer's most recent role was in 2007's Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
