If Matt Damon actually sits down to talk with Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, it's going to be oddly anticlimactic. By the same token, if Damon doesn't appear on the show, that'll be an equally big letdown.

Fans of Kimmel's late-night talk show know that the host has a frequent end-of-show gag in which he deadpans, "Our apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time." It's part of a long-running mock feud between Kimmel and Damon, which in 2008 included Kimmel's then-girlfriend Sarah Silverman appearing on the show to debut her hilarious I'm F---ing Matt Damon music video.
Almost as memorable was the time in 2006 when Damon actually did appear on Kimmel's show, then flew into a faux rage when Kimmel - after an overly dawn-out introduction - announced they'd run out of time and rolled the credits.
