A man apprehended by actor Taye Diggs following a break in at his Los Angeles home on Sunday has been charged with felony burglary.

The Private Practice star and his wife Idina Menzel had just returned home from the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards when he came face-to-face with the intruder.

Diggs gave chase as the burglar ran off and managed to catch and detain him until police arrived on the scene.

The stranger has since been identified as Hassan Omar Juma, who is now facing one count of first degree burglary.

If convicted, the 20 year old faces up to six years in prison.

Juma is due to be arraigned in court later on Tuesday. Prosecutors are asking for the suspect to be held on $50,000 bail, reports TMZ.com.
