'Justified' entertaining television
By Jim Slotek, QMI Agency
Here's a sign of how the experience of viewing TV has changed. A few weeks ago I'd never seen an episode of my new favourite series, Justified.
Now - courtesy of Super Channel On Demand and Netflix - I've seen two and a half seasons, albeit backwards. I've caught up to season four, which is unfolding on Super Channel Wednesday nights. And I've nearly caught up to season two, which is on offer on Showcase, Tuesdays.
I'm not a "spoiler" freak. It doesn't bother me screening an earlier episode knowing a character I'm watching will be dead next season.
But more importantly, my wife and I were able to start watching from season three without much trouble. As much as each season of Marshal Raylan Givens' war against Oxy gangsters in rural East Kentucky has an arc of its own, the episodes are all tightly written, most with a stand-alone plot.
