So what's it worth to parade your traumas, your medical history and your personality flaws in front of a North American reality-TV audience?

A million dollars a la Survivor? Or a $5 million dollar recording contract as on The X Factor?

How about a job? One that pays, maybe, in the mid-to-high five figures?

This is where the New Economy has landed us, folks. The Job, from Survivor creator Mark Burnett, and hosted by Lisa Ling, takes advantage of the cut-throat employment scene to serve up a reality series where people compete for ordinary work.

Really? That's a prize? What, is this a Canadian game show?
