That's the best piece of advice Rob Mariano can offer to the 20 contestants who will be duking it out for fame, glory and a cool $1 million on Survivor: Caramoan, kicking off Wednesday night with a two-hour premiere on Global and CBS.
It's the 26th season of the unstoppable granddaddy of reality shows, and the second to follow the fans vs. favourites format, with 10 Survivor diehards squaring off against 10 contestants from previous seasons.
"Boston Rob" Mariano isn't among them, not this time. But he will be watching.
"I always say that the (contestants) who are best able to adapt to different situations are the ones that are going to succeed and go the furthest," Mariano said from his home in Pensacola, Fla., which he shares with wife and fellow Survivor champion Amber Mariano (nee Brkich) and their three young daughters.
