Not all reality TV is terrible -- just the shows based on love of money or commodification of women and children. Which means every show except Deadliest Catch, but never mind.
People seem to watch reality-TV either to be appalled or to be engaged. Neither choice is very healthy. If you fall into the first category and watch Here Comes Honey Boo Boo or Toddlers & Tiaras to feel somehow superior to those unfortunate toothless early school leavers, we remind you that it's cruel to view other peoples' lives as sport.
If you are part of the latter category, riveted by the daily antics of Kardashians, teen moms, anorexic modelling hopefuls or delusional women buying wedding gowns they can't afford, then you cannot object when your daughter demands 50k for a designer prom gown and boob job for middle school graduation.
