Khloe Kardashian reportedly fired from 'X Factor'   Play video

Although X Factor producers have remained quiet on the issue, it�s unclear whether or not Khloe Kardashian will be returning as a host for the next season.

According to a source who spoke to the New York Post, Khloe is out for good.

�They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe,� a source told the publication.

Entertainment Weekly reported that they received the same sentiment when interviewing Fox reality chief Mike Darnell last month.

�I think the hosts were okay,� Darnell had said. �I think Mario knows how to be a host. I think Khloe was new. And I thought for someone new she did okay. She never hosted before.�

X Factor ratings were down and disappointing for the second season.

With Britney Spears� and L.A. Reid�s exit, the show may be desperate to find a fix if facing budget cuts.

Kardashian�s awkward hosting and controversial nip slip received a lot of flak from fans while Lopez held the duo together.

Simon Cowell is in for a third season but it�s unsure if Demi Lovato will be joining the show as a judge again.
