'Following' star's creepy inspiration
By Bill Harris, QMI Agency
If you listen closely to Valorie Curry's terrifying character on The Following, you just might hear a squeak.
It relates back to Curry's preparation for the series, which airs Mondays on Fox and CTV. Curry plays Emma, one of three kidnappers doing the bidding of Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) in a vendetta against ex-FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon).
"I don't know if this is too much information, but something that really inspired (Emma) for me was, when I was researching I found this really brilliant video interview of Squeaky Fromme," Curry said.
Lynette (Squeaky) Fromme was a member of Charles Manson's infamous "family" of followers. In 1975 she was convicted of trying to assassinate U.S. President Gerald Ford.
