Russians are back as bad guys on American TV!
For a while there, all the evil dudes from other lands were products of the Middle East. But suddenly we're back to the '80s, literally in some cases, philosophically in others.
Red Widow comes on the heels of The Americans, a rookie series on FX and FX Canada that's set in the '80s and stars Keri Russell as a Russian spy.
Call it TV's "Comrade Comeback."
Sticking with Red Widow, it stars Australian actress Radha Mitchell as, well, pretty much what the title of the series suggests.
Marta Walraven (Mitchell) is a stay-at-home mom with a life that seems normal on the outside, but her wider clan connections are not exactly squeaky clean.
