And then there were ten, soon to be five male contestants on American Idol.
The guys were up Wednesday night after the final ten girls sang for their survival on Tuesday night with the fate of everyone to be decided Thursday night by American voters dividing the Top Ten finalists into five men and five women.
And while everyone thinks it's a girl's year to win Idol, a few of the fellas stood out on Wednesday night, notably Elijah with his version of Rihanna's Stay, frontrunner Curtis' stirring rendition of R. Kelly's I Believe I Can Fly, and Devin's bilingual take on It's Impossible.
Standing out for the wrong reasons was geeky redhead Charlie, now decked out in a tie-dyed tank-top, one feathered earring and his hair in a ponytail and singing classic rock in the form of Genesis' Mama.
"Last time I saw you I wanted to cradle you in my arms...Where's my little baby?" Idol judge Nicki Minaj complained. "I feel like someone stole my kid."
Charlie, on the verge of tears or anger, looked like he was going to take someone out. It was a bit unsettling.
Also making a bad fashion choice was Cortez in a faded jean vest. Say no more. And his version of Bruno Mars' Locked Out Of Heaven wasn't much better.
