It's a sure sign of early spring when U.S. network TV's annual "what's safe?" debate begins to bloom.
Notwithstanding the "already renewed" category, these lists of scripted shows are not scientific. They are based on speculation, rumours, pre-debut expectations and the feeling in my own gut.
So lest you be surprised when your favourite series is jettisoned, here goes:
ALREADY RENEWED
Arrow, American Dad, Bob's Burgers, Bones, Family Guy, The Big Bang Theory, The Following, How I Met Your Mother, The Mindy Project, NCIS, New Girl, Raising Hope, The Simpsons, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries.
Some networks announce renewals faster than others, so don't read more into this than you should. It isn't necessarily a list of TV's "biggest winners" this year. After all, The Mindy Project is here.
