Lauer to be new 'Jeopardy' host?
By Andrea Reiher, Zap2it.com

A report out of the New York Post says that the question in response to answer "Alex Trebek's 'Jeopardy!' replacement" is "Who is Matt Lauer?"

Sources tell the paper that the "Today" host is at the top of the list to replace host Trebek when he steps down in 2016, as expected. The Post also says that Lauer is reported to be on his way out at "Today" -- sources say that when Lauer's contract expires in 2015 that he is not expected to re-sign with the morning show.

Does that mean he'd be heading off to Hollywood to host "Jeopardy"?

In recent months, Sony Pictures Television, which owns the popular quiz show, has been quietly exploring TV personalities to see who might be available and interested in Trebek's job when he retires. Sources say Anderson Cooper is also in the discussion, but that Lauer's name is at the top of the list.

Calls to Lauer's agent were not returned and a spokesman for "Jeopardy" has declined to comment.
