Toks Olagundoye knows about being an alien.

The leading lady of the weirdest sitcom on TV - The Neighbors - has a Nigerian father and Norwegian mother, and has lived in Nigeria, England, Switzerland and the U.S. (where she graduated from Smith College).

"I've always felt like an alien. Everywhere," she says cheerily over the phone from L.A., in her natural, this-side-of-plummy St. John's Wood English accent.

"Even at home because I'm always half something else. Even with my family in Norway or Nigeria, I'm the different one.

"Not out of place in a way where I feel rejected. But I've always been very aware that I'm not 'of' the people I've been around. And I've always been all right with that."
