It seems Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan isn’t ready to say goodbye to Walt and Jesse either.
Two weeks after smashing records with one of the most buzzed-about finales in television history – Gilligan has revealed everyone’s favourite meth makers will turn up on Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul.
Gilligan tells The Hollywood Reporter he wants BB stars Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) around for AT LEAST one cameo each over the course of Better Call Saul’s run.
"Personally, I’d have a hard time resisting putting all these guys in for a cameo or two every now and then," he said.
It should be nice seeing Walt and Jesse again BEFORE they dug themselves in deep in the meth game.
Gilligan, along with Peter Gould (who created the Goodman character and will be the Better Call Saul showrunner) are slowly putting the upcoming series together.
Here’s what we know about the prequel so far:
Originally planned as a half-hour comedy, the show will likely be stretched to an hour-long format.
It will be set in good ol’ Albuquerque, New Mexico.
While Breaking Bad was 75% drama and 25% comedy, Better Call Saul will flip this formula. 75% comedy and 25% drama. Not too surprising.
Gilligan will direct the pilot and be full-time in the writing room for at least the first season.
And now, for what you’ve been waiting for:
The show is set to debut in the late summer/early fall of 2014.
